So I have been looking at various movie production quotes like director or actor quotes that reference the development of film over the last two years, this will have to be adapted to integrate with the monologue I will be taking from someone else. Here is my list that im starting to create.
My films are an extension of my poetry, using the white screen like the white page to be filled with images.
–James Broughton
Pick up a camera. Shoot something. No matter how small, no matter how cheesy, no matter whether your friends and your sister star in it. Put your name on it as director. Now you’re a director. Everything after that you’re just negotiating your budget and your fee.
–James Cameron
First cuts are a bitch for a director, because it’s been so many months and you put your trust in your editor and you’re going to see your film assembled for the first time. You look at it and go, This is terrible. I hate it.
–Richard Donner
Movement should be a counter, whether in action scenes or dialogue or whatever. It counters where your eye is going. This style thing, for me it’s all fitted to the action, to the script, to the characters.
–Samuel Fuller
I love filmmaking, and I love the process. And I would rather do nothing else. It’s a privilege to be able to paint such big pictures, so to speak.

After much consideration I have now changed the direction my EMP will be going I am now going to be doing an installation at the film festival which will be held at the life centre in Winton (which I will upload photos of when I make a trip there soon). I will also be putting together some visual effects which will be used in the interval between the films and the categorys which the installation and th animations will be based on:
People and Places- Ideas that come to mind for people and places are footage of busy streets in and around bournemouth, maybe a timelapse of people walking through and about the town centre.
Heritage - Footage of the beaches at sandbanks and local areas maybe corfe castle and the animals that can be found in Dorset.
Future- This i may look at experimentally with some visuals encorporated into a night scene with cars etc.
Culture- I think of different nationalities converging in one area when I think of culture this I believe will be another reason to use Bournemouth as it is a hub of cultural diversity.
I have instinctively changed my original plan for my EMP as I felt that there was not enough work for me to do and the outcome that i achieved early on was not suitable enough to become a final outcome.
I have decided to move my EMP into an installation which is based on the film industry and how it has developed and grown over the last two decades I will be looking at lots of different films but also taking into account the movies that will be played at the film festival which i will be setting up the installation itself. I have compiled a list of movies which i consider to be detrimentally import to the development of film in the last twenty years and then a further list which is compiled of newer art house films. This will last ten minutes and will have an interval which will include imagery of the film festival logo and explantation of the installation and will then go on to display another ten minutes or so.
This is a first draft list I will go on to speak to the events guys and see if they have any ideas of what sort of films they would like to show soon.
This list will change due to my opinion and also popularity though IMDB I will also take into account much newer films and also films which touch on sensitive areas and make people aware of things that where previously unheard of.
So I decided to make some animations for the night coming up for some of the artists on the night to try and get them noticed at the gig as well as the eyes.
-This is for Doctor P when he plays, this goes quite nicely and could be layered over something else, I did it with various effects and new random codes which I have never used before and work quite well and can be set to go in time easily with music.
-Here is the second edit for doctor p with glass smashing effect every second synced with the fist pump and cleaner edges around the fist
-This is for subZERO another dj who is playing on the night, this one was created using particles and a null object which wiggles and is parented to the text which scales to try and re-create bass wobble this should integrate well with resolume avenue.
This is a very low quality version of DJ die’s visuals, but the effects used together look really cool they involve particles again and shatter effects as well as light trails which come together really nicely the background visual is a video template which i took and am going to change the background colour.
So I have started to build the frame for the eyes which will be projected on to need some mesh now or some more wood to bend over the eyes to create curvature .
I managed to bend and crew the wood into shape and made both the eyes perfectly symmetrical.
They are about three feet long and 1.5 high.
So I have decided to finally try my luck at projection and VJing as i think it would definitely be a route i could be interested because of the music side involved I have decided to get in touch with a two visual artists who do events in Bournemouth and they have agreed to let me help with some shows they are doing in the future and hopefully over the summer. The first is vj splatty (steph) who does the dub optic events and outlook festivals and i am going to help set up an eye visual installation which should be cool, the second is rebel overlay (spen) who does shows all over the world and has agreed to let me come along and help with a show he is doing in london at a warehouse project and hopefully set stuff up.

bedroom wall glow
So ive messed around with mad mapper in my living room and bedroom with a short throw projector (the devil) anyway experimented done some cool stuff these are the images i got from it.
Duboptic eye
After a bit of work and design ideas I decided that if the eye blinked it would look a lot better I did this by using different photoshop images and importing them in which worked nicely then added a starburst effect in the background as well as a glass effect to the eye along with a lense flare for the pupil and i think it makes it look so much better than before. There is also a left eye I have just sent these to a vj who will hopefully try and implement them at an opening night at an event in London. (http://www.facebook.com/events/190831447682837/)
Dub optic eye both
so we used these eyes in part of the show it looked cool ive got some photos of it up as well but now im think about doing loads of individual eyes link which link up by wire the same size as the projector screen.
This is the final edit what i sent to Ryan would be cool if he used it in some way but the amount of thins i learned from just this project have benefited me so greatly it wouldn’t matter .ACE.
So for this project I wanted to introduce so motion tracking so i could get to grips with it at some point ive basically used it to help with my shoddy storyline as my filming was not planned as well as it could of been for future reference i will be planning every shot even if i cant predict the nights events.

Ive learnt a fair crack on this project and im really looking forward to starting work on something that i can use skills i have learnt from this project.
So here it is the finished version
So this had been a deciding factor in this project for me and has not been as hard as i had first thought it would be, but after using two different techniques i have found that i can use the equalizer of the song im using and the equalizer of the music captured on the camera to match up a rhythm when people dance and just cut the edits with the beat of the song this has complimented the visuals well.

So I thought an awesome introduction should include some motion graphics in the title so i put together i film reel with different moustaches that beeped every time there was a new one and then finally have his logo and here it is !!!
So I have edited together the first part of my film which is about 1:30 seconds long and i want to add some colour correction so I have been smashing out the tutorials because before today i did not have a clue what i was doing, the first part of my film is in black and white to add to the feel of the music i also wanted to change the contrast to brighten up some of the whites and darken the blacks this will also look good on the crowd shots i have before the music drops once this happens i will re-insert the colour and mess with some blues and reds and see if i can get my head around the red giant plugin.
